Thank you for contributing to the success of the 7th Annual Houston Palestine Film Festival held on May 10-18, 2013.  Although the festival ended last week, much positive and constructive feedback continues to be received and that has lifted our spirits every day. Your feedback has been acknowledged and we will always work hard on improving this festival.

This was a special year for us. We saw many new faces in the audience each night. Some came from Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas to attend the festival. Some had recently moved to Houston and expressed their excitement about having an annual event featuring independent Palestinian films. Our attendance was slightly higher than last year as we averaged approximately 150 people per film screening in two different venues. This year, we also earned our first grant from the Houston Arts Alliance, received a community award from the Palestinian American Culture Center, and we collaborated with the Arab American Cultural Center for a special fundraising event in March, 2013. Our relationship with our supporters from the MFAH and the Rice Media Center will continue to grow to ensure the longevity of the festival.  Their reliable support is crucial to our success and we ask you that you support those venues throughout the year because in doing so you are supporting us as well. The executive committee will go under expansion this summer and fall in order to improve programming of future events.  Please stay tuned for future press releases regarding this matter as we will announce a schedule for interviews for possible new positions.
